Client Care Experts Customer Care Review from Las Vegas, Nevada

I have been trying to contact Client care for almost two weeks straight and am being told that they will be closed till July 4th, it the 20th today of July and the same massage is on their line!! My computer is extremely slow, they installed IDrive and its capacity is poor and therefore, causing my system to have a very poor update process. Forget about the back up! That's a real scam I'm sure. It's very poor customer service and frankly, someone needs to investigate these guys since they are ripping people out of so much money. They need to be stopped.

Got Scam too.

Same thing happened last Thursday 2/25/16. Business issued Dell Laptop model Latitude E6540 froze and got Microsoft Message saying virus attack call the number shown for solution same as picture shown. Called this number and was told I could bring laptop to Best Buy - Geek Squad for repairs; cost $400 and takes 7 days. Or they could see if they could connect to my laptop and make repairs in 6-8 hours. Informed since we are under warranty with Microsoft cost only $250 and warranty for 30 days, additional protection plan for only $29.95 per month available. Declined additional protection. Only after I gave payment was I told receipt would be from Client Care Experts - a division of Microsoft - for repairs only. Returned to my office today 3/3/16 and our IT person informed I was scam...they place the virus so they can remove virus for their fee. Trying to recoup the cost via the credit card company payment was made from.

Webroot Secureanywhere Antivirus Review from Gresham, Oregon

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
One of my new clients came to me with a computer problem. There admin user account profile had been corrupted on windows 7 and they weren't able to login. First I had to fix that. Then asked them about the history of this PC. They told me that they had a pop up appear on there computer a month ago asking to call a number as the computer isn't protected from real time antivirus protection. As the user isn't very computer literate they were worried that there computer really was infected because it became all slow and got lost and called the number. They ended up paying $500. Then there PC never sped up and then there account profile had been corrupted, so they couldn't login to the machine. I fixed the account in order to login and check out the PC. I noticed they had some sort of webroot secure anywhere antivirus running on the machine. Then I went into system properties and found that the logo was changed to a "Client Care experts" logo and had all of the companies information in system properties. I right away went to research this company and found bad reviews. Also figured out they used that webroot antivirus. After that I started running my virus/rootkit usb with different software to seek out viruses and potential root kits. Combofix took 40 minutes to run and came across 100 or so files that it removed. Adwcleaner came across a lot of registry errors and potential viruses. Malwarebytes detected 572 items. Then I cleaned the machine of all the garbage on it. Including the client care experts logo in system properties. Probably a smart idea to just freshly install windows 7. It's just sad how people try to take advantage of others into making them pay big bucks to "potentially" fixing there machine. Go make a real business and help others actually. Now will be filing an ftc report, and see if we can get a refund for my client.

Firstly That Customer account was prob not corrupted and they probably just forgot their password Second calling the FTC to get money back? Wow if you were really smart you would know that the FTC Doesn't get you your money back and that you need to contact the bank.

Third even then filing something like a "Scam" Takes about 6 months to even prove that's what happen. If you are really a professional why are you using free things?

Sounds to me you're trying to take advantage of that customer yourself because as I mentioned If you were really smart you would know to contact a Bank not the FTC to get money back . Shake my head some people .

"User profile service failed the logon. User file cannot be loaded" error.

Easy registry fix.

Also I never said I'm going to attempt getting the money back through FTC. Just filing a report, and hopefully others do aswell.

I've gotten money back before for other from companies, so I know how the whole process works.

Why would I pay for software if free software is available and works well?

Also it is just something I do on the side.

This company charges $500 for "cleaning" $299 that doesn't happen and $200 for webroot secureanywhere. Now that's taking advantage. Firstly they didn't clean anything.

Secondly they overpriced webroot at $200 and its not that good.

Not taking advantage of the client as they are a friends of somebody I know well. Charging under $100 for the whole cleanup and Kaspersky installation for a year installation included.

Just wanted to post this back, and say that I was able to get a full refund for my customers at the time. Also glad to see that the scam was shutdown, and there are active court cases to this date.

Also still shaking my head to this date about them "probably forgetting password" comment.

Had to recover my password just to post this lol. Honestly now that I think of it this was probably posted by one of the people behind this whole scam, and if so hope you got what you deserved :)

Purchased Services were NOT provided

On or around May 3, 2016 I ordered the remote services offered by client care experts in the form of $250.00 for malware anti-virus 'Webroot' protection and $300.00 to "clean, debug, and rejuvenate" my 5 year old computer due to slowed performance and diminished capabilities. Whatever Client Care Experts did to my computer destroyed its ability to connect to a network. I have now been without a computer since on or around May 3, 2016 AND I AM BEING IGNORED BY CLIENT CARE IN REGARD TO COLLECTING MY REFUND. I've sent several emails with no response. I am calling the BBB. I have received a minimum of 8 emails to try and get "re-connected" even though i have never been connected since Client Care touched my computer. I have reached out at least 3 times in the last 2 weeks to try and retrieve my refund yet i get no response back and when the customer service number is called it's always waiting and then a hang up. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

BBB does nothing. BBB is a Scam in themselves.

BBB is own by one person who requires companies to pay them money to get good grades. Google was rated a f a few months back and same with Microsoft because they didn't pay them.

Microsoft technical support has never heard of this company. It is a scam

I received a blue pop up on my computer, stating I have a virus. I called the number posted on the pop up (888-489-****), and they told me to call Client Care Experts at 855-527-****. I explained what happened to the representative, and he said he can do a virus and infection sweep for $299.99. I was wondering how this happened. I called Microsoft, told them what happened, and asked if Client Care Experts is associated with them (like they claimed). Microsoft said "no, you got scammed." They said we never post a message, stating "you have a virus". They also said I should change all of my personal information because it was probably compromised. The Microsoft representative said I should have just shut down my computer and restarted it. If Client Care Experts was affiliated with Microsoft, they would have said the same thing. I went on line and discovered this is not the first time Client Care Experts has pulled this on someone. They have done the exact same thing to a lot of people! I took my computer to a repair company immediately, and the repair person said I was scammed and should have just shut down my computer and restarted it.

The number you posted is for chase bank.... ?

How does that make any sense? Why Are you making up stories?

Guest

But they did a diagnostic for you, showing you what was wrong. You didn't talk to Microsoft because they would not have told you that.

Restarting your computer doesn't get rid of the problems that trigger the message that was on your computer.

You spoke to another company who probably tried to sell you something too. Then how much did the computer "repair man" charge you?

SCAM

Client Care Experts is a complete scam. They were raided by the Florida State Attorney General's office and the Postal Marshall as well. Their last court hearing is on Monday July 25th, 2016 (which can be found online). ANY time a company offers a computer repair remotely besides Best Buy is a SCAM. If you've made any purchase with this company just call your bank or credit card company and tell them you wanna charge back that price you've paid. They will be more than happy to assist you in getting your funds back. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. If you get a pop-up, turn your computer off then back on, everything will be okay.

Nice try guys

Similar events. Screen locked up and was prompted to call the 888 number. Turning the computer on/off was still locked. They charged me 400 to rid my unit of viruses and another 250 for 3 year warranty. Four days later locked up again. Called microsoft tech directly. They got in and said nothing had been done. Disputed charges with bank and "merchant" agreed for full refund. Now I have to reinstall windows 8 to get rid of all their stuff they downloaded. Some of the software they put on there you can not even delete. Others even after deleting are still running in the background. Very crafty scammers. At least I got my 650 back.

Beware Client Care Experts are Con Artist

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On Christmas day, my computer locked up with a message stating my computer was infected with a virus and to call 1-85*-981-****. I spoke to Kristofer. He suggested to remote into my computer to see what was going on. He said I could take it to a technician like Best Buy if I wanted to. He stated my computer was running sluggish, pointed out a couple of programs that may have caused the virus and my computer needed a tune up. When he discovered Trend Micro was my anti-virus software he said it was scanned based software and it was not equipped to prevent viruses like Webroot which is real-time protection. He offered to sell me Webroot for $300. When I told him I couldn't afford it, he asked me if I had a credit card. I said, "No." He said I would pay that any way to get my computer back in working order. I asked him, “How do I know you're not trying to scam me?” he took me to their website, hovered over the Microsoft portion and assured me they were associated with Microsoft. He also said, "If I was trying to scam you, I would sound like I'm from India." I asked if he could fix my computer for under $250, he put me on hold and came back on and said, "Merry Christmas how does $250 sound?" I should’ve hung up but I bought it. He said it would take 4-6 hours, I would receive a phone call to explain what was done. After 4 hours I received no phone call from them. When I went down on our other computer and started researching, I discovered this was a scam. I immediately shut down my computer and contacted my credit union and asked to stop the transaction. I'm foolish for letting him talk me into buying this protection. Somebody from Client Care Experts hacked into my computer and placed that warning message on my computer. They locked up my computer to make it look like it was infected and asked me to call them. This is a SCAM. Do not fall for it. Take your computer to a legitimate computer service technician. This is just the beginning. I could have more issues now that I allowed them remote access to my computer. It's hard telling what they are capable of doing.

The same exact thing happened to me last week. I contacted Dell and also changed all of my passwords.

12/31/2015 Had the same terrible experience told them I could not afford $300 to fix it he asked if I was a senior citizen told them yes so I got it for $150. After them going threw it @ least 5 different times it is still not fixed told me it was my internet provider.

So, I called them they came & told me CLIENT CARE EXPERTS is a SCAM stay away from them & gave me a place in my home town to take it too.

Everything happened just like the person above said. They are *** that will take your money

Guest

This happened to me today (12-30-15). It flashed up on my screen without warning while I was on the internet, and froze my computer.

They mention both AT&T and Microsoft - which makes it seem legitimate. I had to shut down and turn my computer back on. However, when I ran a virus scan, nothing showed up.

I never called the number thinking they could be scammers who just want remote access to my computer.

Dejanae Tug

You are right. The call back number was 1-85*-***-****.

It just happened to me. I told him that I was going to ask my law enforcement friend first----before buying into it. My suggestion? Write it down in Blogger: From the Desk of Patrick Fitzgerald.

I know--he's not in law enforcement anymore but it is being used to investigate something else---and you guys might as well help yourselves so that other feds can help you. The last time that happened to me was years ago, I wrote it in Atty. Patrick J. Fitzgerald's FB like page and it never happened again, until now.

They seem to be doing this at the end of the year.....ALSO REPORT him to the FBI.

THAT WOULD BE EFFECTIVE. IDENTITY THEFT COULD BE A HOMELAND SECURITY ISSUE--especially if they sell those information to other countries.

Beware Scam

Had a popup on a screen with a little x to delete and as soon as I touched the x my computer locked and posted a window telling me to immediately call an 888 number for help. I called my computer tech but was a weekend so he didn't answer. I called the number and before you know it I was getting charged $550 to get my computer unlocked! about an hour after they started my computer tech called and told me to unplug my computer and call my ccard company to get the chgs reversed and cancel my card. Did all that and planning on taking computer to him tomorrow for a check up but here's one interesting thing.... in the hour I left them on my computer they removed their scam virus and my computer now seems fine. I'll still have him check it but I feel these are the guys that planted the virus in the first place to get the repair business. Total scam!!

You didnt call microsoft, you called and indian company saying they were micro-soft. You are dumb you would rather give you money to another country than your own.

All tech support companies do the samething, they make you think the other company scammed you so you can let them scam you....

And you fell for it.

Scammers

I had the same exact experienced. The story told to me was identical to the story told above: I was locked out of my system, a loud buzzing sound was heard, a number popped up to call for help. I was told I was at risk of my personal info being violated, told how much Best Buy would charge me to repair it, and was give a quote of $250.00 less for them to repair it remotely. I felt for the *** because I needed by system right away. I am handicapped and my connection to the outside world is on my computer in bed. I too believe that this lock out is the scam to frighten people to react to protect their system when in deed we are opening out system up to the crooks. They also tried to cell me a real time protection software for $500.00. I have contacted my credit card to dispute this charge, but still waiting to get my refund.

One of our customers were scammed by this company

When I say scammed. I simply mean that my customer made the mistake of possibly not having his antivirus up to date, so he received a pop up that basically told him that his computer was infected, that he must call the number. Low and behold, the suckered him into spending $250. Then they ruined the main software/setup he had in the first place for that computer. I believe they are actually a company that provides a service. Yet I also believe they basically created the problem so that they could come to his rescue. That is a major scam in my book. 1. IF you ever have any pop up's like that. Please NEVER click on them, don't call those places, etc. Shut down your computer and reboot it. 2. IF they did scam you. Try contacting your credit card company and get your money back. Don't give them a banking number of any sort. If you did, CHANGE your cards! Once again, I am not saying they are not a real service. But they clearly prey on people, that's for sure!!!!!

This company, in my opinion, scammed my elderly parents out of more than 250$.. They hit them up online, and convinced them that their computer had a virus and that they could "fix" it.

What they did was put a block on their computer that shut it down. Everything is gone. When my parents called them back to "finish" they suddenly wanted more money! Fortunately, my parents realized, with our help, what was really going on before it got too bad.

Stay safe and away from this company!!! in my opinion...

Guest

Same happened to my wife,580 US. they say they are venders of antivirus companies and want to do free scan and first show you all the "problems" ie Press window key and R then type in "eventvwr" and show all the scary stuff that is meaningless to most users, but gets them to buy protection for their computer ...

most already have it, and its free too, but that doesent stop them from selling you more and removing what you have(2 anti vis cant run) so your fixed and youve been suckered. NEVER CALL A POPUP (unless you want to have fun, and *** them back) DO NOT PAY THEM FOR ANYTHING(they cant reach through the phone)

Guest

Also how do you know they are a scam company if you believe they provide real service.? How do they create a problem if they have no clue who someone is? Sounds like BS what you're speaking of.

Guest

So question what company are you? Why should we believe you? How do we know that you're not a Scam company trying to Scare customers into joining with you?

"Client Care Experts" thieves

Tonight my computer locked up and I got the message to call a phone number to get help. I called and the tech I spoke with said that he worked for Microsoft and his services were free. I let him take remote control of my 4 day-old computer and run some simple diagnostics. He said that my computer needed serious work and that it would cost me $300 elsewhere but he would do it for $250. At that point I told him that I realized that he was running a scam and I hung up. My computer will probably have to be taken in to repair whatever Client Care Experts did to it, as I still have a frozen screen. These people are clever. To sound more legitimate the "customer service rep" gave me sound advice about maintaining computers, and he named local places where I could get the work done. However, he lied and said that the maintenance work would cost ridiculously high amounts if I had it done locally. He also flattered me repeatedly ("you have such a lovely voice," etc.). These people should be in jail.
